The International Association for Human Values is a nonprofit 501(c)3 educational and humanitarian organization. IAHV is committed to developing and promoting programs of personal development that support the expression of human values and compassion in everyday life.

IAHV promotes human values such as creating as sense of belonging to a common humanity; respect for all people, cultures and traditions; respect for the natural environment; an attitude of nonviolence; and an ethic of social service. IAHV upholds the conviction that the integration of human values into all aspects of life will ultimately lead to a more peaceful, just, and sustainable world.

In addition to programs for the general public, like SKY Breathing Meditation workshops, IAHV sponsors stress relief programs for people in specifically challenging circumstances: military veterans, prison inmates, disadvantaged youth and people traumatized by war or natural disaster. Many of these programs are provided by volunteers to the individuals for free.

IAHV was founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in 1997 with the goal of uplifting people around the globe by reducing stress and by fostering the development of leaders who support human values so people from all walks of life can flourish.

The Founder, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is a renowned humanitarian, spiritual leader, and an ambassador of peace and human values. Through his life and work, Sri Sri has inspired millions around the world with a vision of a stress-free and violence-free world. His goal is to uplift people around the globe, to reduce stress, and to develop leaders so that human values can flourish in people and communities.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has created courses that provide techniques and tools to live a deeper, more joyous life. He has established nonprofit organizations that recognize a common human identity beyond the boundaries of race, gender, nationality, and religion.

Reviving the ancient wisdom of yoga, breathing, and meditation, Sri Sri has contributed new techniques for personal and social transformation which have helped millions of people experience a profound transformation in their lives.
Sri Sri describes SKY Breathing Meditation
“Sudarshan Kriya (SKY) is not just another breathing technique. The breath is involved in the practice but it is not all that it is. It goes beyond to your mind, to your emotions, to your very Being; and it cleanses the whole system of stress and impressions.

“There are many pranayama techniques, so called breathing techniques, that energize you and bring some calming when you inhale a certain way, and exhale, and maybe hold the breath, but this has nothing to do with Sudarshan Kriya. Once you experience it, you'll be very clear. Once you do it the first time you will notice it brings the rhythm of Being in the system. It flows by itself, there is no effort in the technique.”
